First one for mom, Happy mother's day!

After suggesting many to start their blog to capture all the good experiments done in the kitchen, Its finally the time to start mine :)
Not experienced, but highly inspired by my hubby & having built each of my cell with the mouth watering food by my mom, grand mom & moushi; with a lil more than 2 yrs of cooking, I have started making some delicious food myself!!
My first recipe straight from my mom's kitchen, tried it last weekend which turned out to be heavenly (mom still thinks it’s the normal one!)

Ingredients
  • potatoes (medium sliced)
  • onion (finely chopped)
  • tomatoes (sliced)
  • toor dal (half cup)
  • grated coconut (half cup)
  • tamarind
  • chilly powder (1-2 tsp)
  • turmeric powder (1/2 tsp)
  • dhania powder (1/4 tsp)
  • hing
  • oil (3 tsp, lesser if you can manage it)
  • mustard

Procedure
  • Pressure cook toor dal & potatoes
  • Grind the coconut (grated) along with chilly powder, turmeric powder, dhania powder, tamarind (small piece) into a smooth paste
  • Heat oil, put mustard & lil hing; then fry onion till golden brown; add tomatoes
  • Add the grinded mix, toor dal with potatoes to the vessel with onion/tomatoes
  • Add salt and cook in low flame for 10mins
  • Last add coriander for garnish & serve hot
Good to eat with any Indian rotis/chapathis and or rice
I missed to take a pic, will do when I make it next.. for sure !! :)
